The Early Years

Aaron Eggers, Silas Caryl, and Edward J. Corrigan, Sr. were the founding principles of Eggers, Caryl & Corrigan, Inc. Low on capital, but high on vision, ambition and energy, they opened the doors in the spring of 1947, on the corner of Oriskany Boulevard and Broadway, in the same building our commercial department occupies today.

The Partners

The partners, Aaron Eggers, Silas Caryl, and Edward J. Corrigan, Sr. brought a variety of work experience, most of which was in the management of sales and service, but their greatest assets were their honesty and an insatiable desire to provide products and personnel of the highest integrity for the market place.

The three worked together until 1963 when Silas Caryl announced his retirement, leaving Eggers and Corrigan to carry on. The partnership ceased to be in 1967, when Aaron Eggers died suddenly of heart failure.

The working relationship between the partners was excellent, they were friends when they started and remained so to the end.

And so, the name Eggers, Caryl & Corrigan, remains today, after sixty (67) years as a memorial to three good men. Edward J. Corrigan, Sr. purchased the Company from the surviving partner and partner’s wife and became the controlling interest in Eggers, Caryl & Corrigan, Inc. Edward J. Corrigan, Sr. ran the Company until 1976, when he turned over the reins to his sons Edward J. Corrigan, Jr. and Peter B. Corrigan who are getting ready the next generation to take the wheel.
